Fun Fact: Both of my parents were architects, therefore, as a child, I wanted to do something related to construction. I really enjoyed physics and math but lacked drawing skills, therefore I decided to pursue civil engineering.
Ashhad Khan, P.Eng
Project Engineer, Civil/Structural (Toronto, ON)
Ashhad Khan is a Senior Project Engineer within Envista’s Civil/Structural division. He has over 10 years of field experience including engineering consulting, specifically mining, infrastructure, and telecommunications projects, where he provided efficient, effective, economical, and timely solutions to complex structural design problems in a multidisciplinary project environment. Ashhad also has a deep knowledge of designing steel, timber, and concrete structures using both Canadian and American design standards.
Fun Fact: My favorite part about being an engineer is problem-solving and building something new by assembling various materials. On a typical day you can find me with a coffee in my hand, building codes to my left, research tabs on my screen, and a notepad and calculator to my right. All to solve a mystery.
Jason Hawk
Building Consultant, Building Consulting (Panama City, FL)
Jason Hawk is a Building Consultant with over 20 years in the insurance industry as a water mitigation specialist and large loss adjuster. He comes to Envista with intimate knowledge of what is required to move a file toward resolution, as well as an understanding of the subrogation process and gathering of information, such as preservation of the scene and the importance of detailed inspections including detailed photographs and estimates. At Envista, Jason provides building damage evaluations and reconstruction cost estimating to insurance professionals and property owners following complex, catastrophic events involving buildings, building systems, and building structures.
Fun Fact: My favorite part of my job is being able to help people in a time of need. One of the most interesting losses I've worked on was a 200-room hotel fire.
Scott Rankin, P.Eng
Project Engineer, Civil/Structural (Toronto, ON)
Scott Rankin is a Senior Project Engineer within Envista’s Civil/Structural division and has over 11 years of experience. His experience includes metallurgy, where he has worked primarily with furnaces constructed with structural steel, platinum, iron, and titanium. Scott has led large teams at times during emergency/catastrophe situations to conduct upgrades, failure investigations and remediations, and emergency redesigns for furnaces.
Fun Fact: I have done investigations all over the world including, but not limited to, Colombia, Brazil, South Africa, Indonesia, and South Korea. The longest I have been away from home working on a project has been 9 months to a year.
