Envista Welcomes New District Manager and Three New Experts in March
In the month of March, Envista welcomed three new experts and one new District Manager to our team. Our Civil/Structural group gained a new expert and our Building Consulting group gained another two.
Meet Envista’s Newest Additions!
Kevin Frazer
Building Consultant, Building Consulting (Atlanta, GA)
Kevin is a Building Consultant with over 20 years of experience working in the construction and restoration industry. He has vast experience providing reconstruction estimates for structural damage projects involving commercial and residential structures. At Envista, Kevin leverages his expertise in project management to manage catastrophic loss claims as part of the Building Consulting team.
Fun Fact: One of the more interesting projects that I have worked on was a vehicle claim where a car impacted the roof of a home. The driver lost control of the vehicle and left the road. The home sat below the road so when the driver lost control they landed on the roof.
Kiet Nguyen, PE
Project Engineer, Civil/Structural (Tampa, FL)
Kiet is a Project Engineer with over 10 years of experience in forensic engineering. His training and experience include assessments of structural and foundation damages, building inspections, and forensic assessment on residential and commercial structures, as well as construction estimating, utilizing his proficiency in Xactimate for repair estimates. He also has experience performing origin and cause investigations regarding weather-related roof damages, stucco damage, water infiltration, and displacement related distress.
Fun Fact: My favorite part about being an engineer is that the day-to-day is never the exact same job. There is always something different and I am continuously learning.
Richard Berdan, Registered Architect, NCARB, LEED GA
Principal Consultant, Building Consulting (Hartford, CT)
Richard is an architect with over 35 years of experience in the design and construction industry. He has worked on a wide range of projects giving him broad and deep technical knowledge of the industry and professional standards. Richard has provided building consulting and forensic services to the insurance industry for large loss, litigation, and building envelope analysis for the past 10 years. During the 25 years prior, he worked as a Project Architect, Project Manager, Construction Administrator, and Owner Representative covering every phase of the design and construction process.
Fun Fact: During the 2012 Hurricane Sandy event in NYC, a utility transformer triggered a major fire which consumed over 200 homes and businesses across three neighborhoods. The fires raged simultaneously with a height of storm surge flooding across the neighborhoods. I was engaged to assist with litigation prep for subrogation against the utility company, and because the subrogation would be limited to the fire damage, the extent of flood surge and fire damage needed to be segregated and quantified for each of the 200+ properties. The assessment required the assistance of meteorological data tracking, surveillance video, news reporting, eyewitness testimony, and hundreds of depositions. To determine replacement scope, each property needed to be reconstructed using poor city records, hundreds of depositions, and lots of family photos. Toward the end of the assignment, the request was made for the contents to be estimated for each structure in a similar manner. It was fascinating how many of these homeowners declared to have multimillions of dollars worth of antiques and collectibles stored in their beach houses.
