Sobre Joseph (Andy)
Andy Lancaster is a Geologist with over 17 years of experience performing geotechnical investigations and building damage assessments. He has performed work related to the identification of geologic hazards in more than 40 states across the U.S., Puerto Rico and Mexico. An experienced Expert-Witness, his investigative experience includes the evaluation of geotechnical studies for the presence and potential for sinkhole activity and he has provided opinions for studies involving the presence of detrimental soil or geotechnical conditions...

He has performed work related to the identification of geologic hazards in more than 40 states across the U.S., Puerto Rico and Mexico. An experienced Expert-Witness, his investigative experience includes the evaluation of geotechnical studies for the presence and potential for sinkhole activity and he has provided opinions for studies involving the presence of detrimental soil or geotechnical conditions affecting existing structures. These studies include field and laboratory testing to enable assessments of subsurface condition, such as buried organic material, buried debris, collapsible soils, expansive clay soils and sinkhole or solution feature activity. Andy has also performed geotechnical investigations for building settlement, landslides/rockfalls, dam failures, construction defects and mine subsidence. Andy is also experienced with other geophysical applications, including GPR investigations for the detection of voids below concrete floor surfaces, delineation of landfill cell boundaries and non-destructive testing of concrete for reinforcement. He has performed geophysical surveys for GM and Ford Motor Companies using GPR and Electro Magnetic (EM31) for landfill delineation on desert proving grounds in Arizona. He has also worked many claims involving utility loss including broken underground utilities and storage tanks, mis-located utilities involving subsequent damage and losses during directional drilling installation of underground utilities. As a Building Consultant, Andy has performed work during CAT events including damage assessments of large apartment complexes, industrial facilities and single-family residential structures. He has performed cost estimation on both residential and commercial claims along with acting as an appraiser during a claims dispute.
