Fun Fact: The farthest I've traveled for an investigation was Far North Queensland in Australia after the Cyclone Yasi catastrophe. The most interesting investigation I've worked was preparing a value at risk assessment on St. Paul's, the oldest cathedral in Australia.

Fun Fact: When I was a kid, I wanted to be a pediatric neo-natal doctor. As a Building Consultant, I am mostly drawn to the appraisal work that we have been assigned. While most people find appraisals to be contentious, I thrive on being a fair and unbiased appraiser for the carrier.
Chris Sims

Chris is a Senior Building Consultant with over 10 years of experience in project management of comprehensive building inspections to identify and assess technical breaches and building defects. He is proficient at identifying cause, dilapidation, damage and design scope of works for reinstatement and repair including budget estimates and costings.
Fun Fact: My favorite part about being a building consultant in this industry is that every matter is different. I once had to investigate the cause of a collapsing chimney from a wombat burrowing under the house.

His extensive expertise in the insurance industry, as well as his expertise in running his own construction consulting/estimating business for several years, enables him to complete thorough investigations for our clients. Fun Fact: I currently provide building consulting services to the Rocky Mountain region but if given the opportunity, would love to work outside the US, especially in Europe and Asia.
Shane Oates

Fun Fact: I had the opportunity to travel to New Zealand to assist in carrying out building inspections for an insurer for residential buildings that were damaged in the Christchurch earthquake. The longest stint over there was three weeks at a time with a week back home in between. This went on for nine months.
