Alan Kaltenbaugh, PE
Project Engineer, Electrical (Tampa, FL)
Alan Kaltenbaugh is a Project Engineer with over nine years of experience designing and preparing plans for numerous transportation-related projects. Alan is a licensed professional engineer and received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He has also served as Lead ITS Engineer for numerous transportation projects, including a $647 million express lanes project.
Fun Fact: I am new to forensics, so I haven't had to travel for any investigations, but my previous employer had international work and I spent a couple of weeks in Doha, Qatar working on a major transportation project.
Carolyn Gomez, PE, PMP
Senior Project Engineer, Civil/Structural (Houston, TX)
Carolyn Gomez is a Senior Project Engineer with over 10 years of experience in civil and structural engineering. She received her MBA, a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. She is also a licensed professional engineer and certified project management professional. As an Army veteran, Carolyn has extensive experience collaborating on construction projects with the Army Corps of Engineers, Navy Seabees and NAVFAC, the Air Force Red Horse Squadron, and civilian organizations.
Fun Fact: One of the most interesting investigations I’ve worked on was when an insured claimed a boat rolled down a hill and into his house.
Dianfeng Zhao, PhD
Senior Technical Consultant, Civil/Structural (Singapore)
Dianfeng Zhao is a Senior Technical Consultant who comes to Envista with over 19 years of experience in civil and structural design as well as forensic investigation experience. He is a post-doctoral educated civil/structural engineer obtaining his PhD from Nanyang Technological University in 2004. He has worked on projects in Singapore, the UK and the UAE. Dianfeng is a Chartered Engineer (CEng, UK) and a Singapore Professional Engineer (PE). At Envista, Dianfeng conducts forensic investigations and damage assessments on civil, structural, and geotechnical insurance claims.
Fun Fact: My favorite part about being an engineer is the feeling of satisfaction when people start to enjoy what you contribute.
Hasan Ziad, BEng, MEng (UK), MIEAust, MAIQS, MRICS (UK)
Senior Quantity Surveyor, Building Consulting (Sydney, Australia)
Hasan Ziad is a Senior Quantity Surveyor with more than 13 years of experience in leading estimating and cost planning. He holds success in winning $400+ million valued tenders in large, medium, and small infrastructure projects. He received both his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering as well as his Master of Science in Civil Engineering.
Fun Fact: When I was a child I wanted to go into architecture, engineering, building, construction, interior design etc.
Joshua Payne, PE
Senior Project Engineer, Civil/Structural (Baltimore, MD)
Joshua Payne is a Senior Project Engineer with over 10 years of experience in working with diverse building materials and construction. He received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and has expertise in structural design and estimating. He is also proficient in RISA 3D, tnxTower, Staad Pro, SAP2000, Revit, AutoCAD, Ansys, Planswift.
Fun Fact: My favorite part about being an engineer is seeing new weird things and the moment of figuring out why. One time I had to travel to Maine for a four-day fire investigation of a lobster plant.
Pete Shramko, PE

Pete Shramko is a Project Engineer with over 25 years of experience in civil and structural design and project management across various industries and structures. He is a licensed professional engineer and earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida. Pete is also proficient in Bentley RAM Advanse, RAM Structural System, Autocad, SAP – Project Systems, ABAP programming, Oracle Primavera, and Mathcad.
Fun Fact: As a child, I love to be part of things being created. I come from a family of Engineers.
