In September, Envista welcomed new experts in North America and Australia. Three new Civil/Structural experts and one Electrical expert joined us in the United States, and one Mechanical expert joined us in Australia.

Elias Alfaro, PE
Principal Engineer, Civil/Structural (San Antonio, TX)
Elias is a Principal Engineer with over 17 years of experience in the engineering and construction industries. His experience includes forensic investigations, catastrophe response, structural analysis, building envelope evaluations, and construction management. His educational background and work experience in both the engineering and construction industries allow him to investigate a wide range of problems and/or failures.
Fun Fact: When I was a child, I wanted to be an architect.
Brendan Gold, PE
Project Engineer, Civil/Structural (Houston, TX)
Brendan is a Project Engineer with over four years of experience in the engineering and construction industries. He has expertise in investigating various structural defects, damages, and failures to determine the root cause and appropriate remediation course. He holds a Master of Engineering in Structural Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas. Brendan’s background in structural forensics and restoration enables him to identify and determine the cause of defects/failures in various types of buildings.
Fun Fact: I am advanced open water certified for scuba diving.
Maryam Hosseini, PhD, CPEng, NER, MIE Aust, APEC(AUS)
Senior Forensic Engineer, Mechanical (Sydney, AUS)
Maryam is a Senior Forensic Engineer with a strong background in project management and technical oversight. She has led the design and testing of innovative fire suppression systems. She utilized her expertise in mechanical, physics, and structural engineering, applying advanced engineering methodologies, including GD&T and 5S principles, to optimize design and manufacturing processes. Maryam holds a PhD in Engineering from Western Sydney University and is a Chartered Professional Engineer. Fluent in multiple languages, she is committed to operational excellence and continuous improvement in the engineering sector.
Fun Fact: A hidden talent of mine is that I’m pretty good at cooking. I enjoy experimenting with different cuisines and creating new recipes. It’s a fun and relaxing way for me to unwind after a busy day at work.
Stephen Mantell
Senior Project Consultant, Electrical (Columbus, OH)
Stephen is a Senior Project Consultant with over 20 years of experience in electrical engineering including manufacturing and failure analysis. His experience includes leading capital projects while continuously inspecting and maintaining a vast range of manufacturing equipment. Stephen has a strong aerospace background and broad knowledge of electrical components and test equipment. He utilizes this expertise in determining root causes to deliver precision and accuracy during his investigations and reporting to clients. He has most recently led and managed a failure analysis (FA) laboratory, resulting in hundreds of extensive hands-on FA assignments.
Fun Fact: I am a longtime private pilot and a licensed drone pilot.
Trevor Walker, PE
Project Engineer, Civil/Structural (Dallas, TX)
Trevor is a Project Engineer with experience in the design and construction of various structures, including warehouses, retail buildings, and bridges. He holds a Master’s in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from Texas A&M University and has significant experience in bridge inspections and design work from his time at Barnhart Constructors, Inc. Trevor graduated with honors from the University of Houston, where he researched advanced concrete materials. He is proficient in multiple engineering software and programming languages and holds a Texas Professional Engineer license.
Fun Fact: I was a college athlete on the University of Houston track and field team.
