Fun Fact: The most interesting loss I've worked on was a fire in the chemical biological laboratory in Ft. Detrick, Maryland. The fire rapidly engulfed a portion of the laboratory while it was under construction. As the lead investigator, I coordinated the fire scene examination with state, local, and federal investigative agencies along with multiple forensic disciplines. The fire loss dollar loss was over 30 million dollars.

Fun Fact: I love the technical detective work and the variety of being a fire investigator. Forensics is the most cerebral of any engineering job I've ever had. I know of no other job that today requires you to be an expert in microwave ovens, tomorrow you're an expert in oil-fired boilers, and by the end of the week, it's MRI machines in a medical clinic. That kind of variety and challenge is what makes the job so interesting.
